Transfer deadline day can be a stressful time for even the most experienced players.

Indeed, anything can happen late in the day in a transfer window, and while it can be stressful as a fan waiting for news on who your team wants to sign, it’s even more stressful for the player’s involved.

These footballers have to make potentially life-changing decisions at a moment’s notice, and for some, it can all be a bit overwhelming.

Mathys Tel has had an interesting January.

Tel was linked to Tottenham this week, while Arsenal are keen on Tel too.

At the age of just 19, the youngster is at the centre of a lot of speculation, and according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on Market Madness, the attacker keeps changing his mind on what he wants to do.

Mathys Tel keeps changing his mind

Romano shared what he knows about Tel and his situation.

The journalist says that this is a crazy story, claiming that the player keeps changing his mind over what he wants to do.

Romano also noted that Arsenal make a call about Tel yesterday, but, as of right now, that deal isn’t advancing.

“I can guarantee you that this is a really crazy situation. It’s changed many times, that’s why we have heard so many different stories,” Romano said.

“The player is changing his mind, he wants to go on permanent, then on loan and then to stay at Bayern. Bayern changed the conditions. I’m told that this morning Bayern informed the player again they have no intention to accept a loan deal, permanent transfer or nothing.

“Mathys Tel is still pushing to go and play in the second-half of the season. At the moment, I’m told with Arsenal, despite calling yesterday, today this deal is not advancing, Arsenal are looking at different options.”

Players who became stars after leaving Bayern Munich

Tel has a big decision to make here.

The striker is currently contracted to one of the biggest clubs in world football and it’s always very difficult to decide what to do when you’re in this situation.

Stick or twist? Do you stay and hope to break into the Bayern Munich team, or do you back yourself to make your own name elsewhere.

Tel isn’t the first player to be in this situation, and many players over the years have left Munich to become stars elsewhere.

Players who left Bayern Munich and became stars
Ryan Gravenberch
Mats Hummels
Emre Can
Lukas Podolski

Ryan Gravenberch has been hailed for his performances for Liverpool this season, Mats Hummels eventually earned a move back to Bayern Munich after initially leaving as a youngster, while Emre Can has won trophies all over Europe too.

It is possible to leave a team like Bayern Munich and become a big star, but, those cases are few and far between.

Tel has a very difficult decision to make here, and it’s easy to see why he’s so indecisive.
