Liverpool have been quiet in the winter transfer window – with little need for change under Arne Slot right now – although an enquiry was made.
The Reds sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League – with a game in hand – and also finished top of the UEFA Champions League, so Liverpool are not exactly desperate for reinforcements.
Despite that, TBR Football understand Liverpool enquired about Stefano Tzimas – the Greek wonderkid who has been in superb form for FC Nürnberg this season, scoring ten goals in 17 league appearances.
Now, however, the 19-year-old has officially joined another Premier League side.
Brighton announce Stefano Tzimas
Brighton have now confirmed the signing of the Greece U21 international on transfer deadline day.
We are delighted to confirm the signing of Stefanos Tzimas from Bundesliga 2 side FC Nuremburg. 😁
The 19-year-old has signed a contract that runs until June 2030, but he will remain in Germany until the end of the season. 🤝

TBR Football understand Liverpool were not the only other side keen on Tzimas, with Newcastle, Tottenham, Manchester United, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest asking about the teenager as well.
Despite interest from a number of English footballing giants, Brighton have now managed to convince the Thessaloniki-born wonderkid to move to the Amex Stadium in a £20m deal.
The Seagulls will loan allow Tzimas to remain on loan at FC Nürnberg for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign, before he links up with Fabian Hürzeler this summer.
The deals Liverpool could complete early this summer
Liverpool seem keen not to rock the boat at the moment with things going so well under Slot, although we expect some marquee summer deals to materialise at Anfield.
Liverpool have identified Jorrel Hato of Ajax as a potential addition at centre-back, and the Netherlands international was spotted at Anfield for the recent 4-1 win over Ipswich Town.
However, the Dutchman’s attendance was not for transfer talks on this occasion, but due to an invite from fellow countryman Ryan Gravenberch.
Liverpool could also sign El Hadji Malick Diouf of Slavia Prague this summer as a new left-back is targeted, with Bournemouth No.3 Milos Kerkez also on the radar.
