Tottenham Hotspur have pulled off a transfer deadline day coup as they look set to sign Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich.
Tottenham were rejected by Tel earlier this month, despite Spurs agreeing a €60million (£50million) fee with Bayern Munich for the striker.
This led to interest in Tel from Manchester United and Arsenal, although there were reports suggesting Tel was looking to stay put at Bayern.
However, in an exciting development for the Tottenham faithful, Tel has changed his mind and is now on the way to Spurs.
Now, Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed which other club made a move for Tel and were rejected by the 19-year-old.

Mathys Tel rejected Eintracht Frankfurt move ahead of Tottenham switch
Plettenberg has taken to X to report that Eintracht Frankfurt reached a verbal agreement with Bayern on a loan deal for Mathys Tel with no option to buy.
Indeed, Bayern’s club executives agreed that this would be a great opportunity for Tel to gain playing time at the highest level, added Plettenberg.
However, Tel is said to have declined the move at the time, as he wanted to stay at Bayern.
TBR Football sources have confirmed that Tottenham are paying Bayern £6.5million to sign Tel on loan for the rest of the season.
What Tel could bring to Tottenham
Tel is one of the most talented young players in European football, though his lack of game time this season means he hasn’t managed to build momentum.
However, Tel has been an important squad member for Bayern for two-and-a-half years now, and he has made 83 competitive appearances for the club.
This is no mean feat for a player who’s still just 19 years old.

The official Bundesliga website has compared Tel to Real Madrid and France superstar Kylian Mbappe.
They also deemed him an ‘accomplished forward with oodles of pace, dazzling ball skills and a knack for curling spectacular strikes with his cultured right boot’.
In addition, Football Talent Scout‘s Jacek Kulig gave Tel a 10 out of 10 for potential in 2021, deeming him a “world-class” prospect.
They compared him to Thierry Henry and deemed him a “complete forward” as well as a “well-rounded player who has all the qualities to play on many other positions and attacking roles”.
