Tottenham Hotspur’s two January signings Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso have both handed the club major boosts ahead of Liverpool.

Tottenham are bidding to reach their first cup final since 2021 as they travel to Anfield looking to defend a 1-0 lead from the first-leg.

Lucas Bergvall’s strike against the Reds proved to be the difference between the two teams in North London.

The Lilywhites added two outfield players to their squad during January and both players could be involved against Arne Slot’s team on Thursday.

Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso train ahead of Liverpool

Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso both completed light training sessions ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Liverpool on Thursday, according to Paul O’Keefe.

Tel signing for Tottenham was one of the biggest deals on deadline day as the Frenchman performed a dramatic U-turn having initially rejected a move to Spurs.

Meanwhile, Danso looks to be a crucial addition for Tottenham who have lost Radu Dragusin to an ACL injury and Micky van de Ven being assessed ahead of Liverpool.

Danso could be thrown right into the deep end at Spurs given their lack of fit central defenders and Tel could also make his debut from the off at Anfield.

But the major boost for Ange Postecoglou is that both of his new additions have trained before the pivotal cup semi-final.

Could Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso start for Tottenham vs Liverpool?

There is a great chance that both Tel and Danso start for Tottenham against Liverpool due to the Lilywhites’ current injury crisis.

Richarlison was disappointing against Brentford which is somewhat understandable as he continues to rebuild his fitness following another injury layoff.

The 19-year-old will most likely take Richarlison’s spot up front against the Reds which is where he seemingly views as his favoured position.

Given Danso’s experience, Postecoglou would have no issues throwing in the 26-year-old to most likely replace Archie Gray.

Gray and Ben Davies managed to keep the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoanne Wissa quiet away at Brentford, however, their new Austrian signing could come straight into the team.
