TBR Football understands that both Marc Guehi and Crystal Palace have ruled out a move to Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day.

Spurs have been working really hard to sign a new central defender over the last few days.

Kevin Danso arrived on Sunday from Lens in Ligue 1, but Ange Postecoglou wants to sign another centre-half following Radu Dragusin’s injury.

Tottenham will not be able to sign Axel Disasi, and their pursuit of Crystal Palace star Guehi is set to be unsuccessful as well in this window.

Marc Guehi is not pushing to leave Crystal Palace for Tottenham

Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – can confirm that Crystal Palace have rejected an offer from Tottenham for Guehi.

Spurs, who are exploring several options to sign a new centre-back, decided to pursue a move for the England defender, and they were ready to go big.

TBR can confirm that Tottenham’s bid for Guehi was worth £70 million, which would’ve been a record fee for both clubs.

However, Crystal Palace rejected it out of hand, and we can confirm that the Eagles have categorically ruled out a transfer in what’s left of the window.

Guehi, who will enter the final year of his contract, is not pushing to leave Palace either on deadline day and is happy to stay.

So, as things stand, the 24-year-old is expected to see out the season at Selhurst Park and reassess his options in the summer transfer window.

Four clubs could make a move for Guehi in the summer

As we mentioned above, Guehi will have just 12 months left on his Crystal Palace contract in the summer, and he will not be short of offers.

TBR can confirm that Tottenham, who have had a bid rejected now and Newcastle United, who failed with multiple offers last summer, like the player and are expected to show interest again.

Chelsea are really keen to sign Guehi too and they will be back in the race for the 24-year-old’s signature at the end of the season.

Liverpool are also long-time admirers of Guehi, and Arne Slot’s side could also battle it out for the defender’s signature in the summer.
